What are colored contact lens caps?

We’ve got a whole bunch of lenses in the wild that look a bit like the contact lenses that you see in most tech stores, and that’s because they’re basically translucent.
The only way you can tell what lens is which is if you use a special device called a contact lens reader.
These are a tiny, cheap device that takes your photo, prints it out, and attaches to your lens cap.
And that’s it.
They work pretty much the same way as regular contacts, but with a few tweaks.
In short, the reader is like a microfiber cloth that covers your lens, while the lenses themselves are basically a thin layer of transparent plastic.
When you put them on, they take your photo.
When they’re detached, they leave your lens covered in a thin, opaque layer of plastic.
